Somebody came across this page searching for “pool limp cpr.”
While I hope that people would have the common sense to call 911 if they found someone limp at poolside and didn’t know CPR, experience has taught me that there are thousands of people who would search google for instructions for an hour before calling an ambulance.
What a world.

because your super-hero talent is intubation and cpr over the world wide web, right?
No one should know better than a respiratory therapist that panic tends not to bring out what is most rational in the panicking person’s thinking. Moreover, 911 could already have been called and the nearest rescue unit could have been a quarter-hour away; one person could be with the victim and another on the computer. I wouldn’t assume stupidity and asininity too quickly.
The search may have been to prepare for a possible event or to analyze what could have been done in a particular situation.
You’ve got an interesting blog subject. I’d like to learn more. about it.
That’s true, but experience has shown me that if there is a possibility of someone being smart and thinking ahead or a possibility of someone doing something stupid like googling an urgent medical problem, the odds are stacked in favor of the stupid choice. But I could be wrong…
Glad you like my blog! Feel free to e-mail me at anonymoustherapist at gmail dot com if there’s anything specific you want to know about RT-wise.
Strange request. You’ve got to wonder if they were searching PRIOR with intent, or AFTER they’ve committed the crime… (I’m bit twisted today)
